日本国家馆分为过去、现在、未来3大展区,形态融合了日本传统特色与现代风格,参观者可以通过视觉、触觉、听觉等感受到日本馆所传递的信息和魅力.日本馆的建筑理念是“像生命体一样会呼吸的环保建筑”,展馆外部覆盖一层利用太阳能发电的超轻“膜结构”.“过去”展区展示保护文化遗产的“精密复制”技术,参观者可近距离鉴赏日本名作.“现在”展区通过照片透视画及实物展示、影像装置呈现2020年的未来城市.“未来”展区展示具有超高清及望远功能的“万能相机”、会演奏小提琴的“伙伴机器人”和实现客厅墙壁与电视机一体化的“生活墙”.
