我倒是这样觉得的,连读其实就是一个词如果以consonant结尾,而下个词以vowel开头,而这两个词又有关系的话,他们就可以连读.就是嘴形不用换得话就接着读下去.比如说：(连读的地方我用-来标记）
1.It-is-unavoidable (就念成 itisunavoidable) that they will become-money-oriented-and(可念成becomoniorientedand,become的e不发音,就相当于最后一个是consonant "m",而下一个money开头又是m所以就可以连起来,念成becomoney) sometimes-are (中间连读成sar）spiritually contaminated.
个人认为连读是因为念上一个词的词末至下一个词的开头口形不用换,所以念起来方便地道一些.用中文举例子,最明显的连读就在“啊”上.比如说：
晚安啊!（wan an a) 很自然就会念成晚安哪!（wan an na)
好奇妙啊 (hao qi miao a) 也会自然而然地念成好奇妙哇
意思是一样的.
但是lz一定要注意的是连读指的是词与词之间的连接,决不代表不用连读的地方就要停顿.句子中停顿和重音和词与词之间的连接是没有很大的关系的,最主要决定停顿的是句子的结构,决定重音的是句子的意思.
