unhelpful有两个意思：1.不愿帮助的 2.不起帮助作用的,无用的

     如:1.The authorities are being particularly unhelpful.
          当局尤其不愿提供帮助.
        2.These books are unhelpful to me.
          这些书对我来说一点用都没有.

helpless一般来说做两个解释：1.（指人）无助的  2.忍不住的,情不自禁的(+with)（这个意思有点偏了,不会作为考查的内容的）

     如:1.Without proper defences we'd be helpless against an enemy attack.
          如果缺乏适当的防御手段,我们将无法抵挡敌人的进攻.
        2.we rolled on the floor,helpless with laughter.
          我们忍不住笑得在地上打滚.
意思和用法有所差别,所以用的时候还是要注意区分.
